General Description
ALFAMICRO was founded in 1983, for research, consultancy and engineering services to support advanced re-engineering and integrated IT solutions. Telecommunications, multi-media applications and Web Services complement the solutions developed and implemented in the field. ALFAMICRO also develops applied research with the aim to further develop the technologies utilized in the implementation of new working paradigms such as electronic commerce, digital collaborative business, dynamic virtual work environments, innovation networks, Living Labs, energy efficiency, e-Learning and semantic GRID.
Relevant Competence for the project
ALFAMICRO has been involved in several EU Programmes e.g.: IST, TEN-TELECOM, ADAPT. IST participation is exemplified by: PERIPHÈRIA, SAVE ENERGY, APOLLON, FIREBALL, TARGET, PreCo, SMARTISAN, SCOOP, MOMENT, GEM Europe, Rural Wins, AFORO, PRIME, COMPANION, NEWTIME, etc. The company is/has been a member of European Networks like: ICIMS-NOE, IiM-B, IMS, MOTIVATION, EXPIDE, BRIDGES, TRANSACT.
Main role and activities to be carried out
ALFAMICRO will support the Lisbon Pilot on Participation and mainly in leading the Tourism Pilot. Alfamicro will also contribute with their existing ENoLL network for effective cooperation and active promotion of partnerships in Europe and beyond. ALFAMICRO will contribute with the scientific expertise and operational experience in methodologies for user driven innovation and Living Labs for the development and implementation of applications for tourism and citizens participation. Furthermore it will lead the Apps4Tourism.EU, promoting the co-creation of new apps and services for Tourism in the Pilot cities.
