WS5: CitySDK APIs boosting Smart City App development

Date:

Wednesday 3rd of September

Time:

11.30 – 13.00 : duration 90 minutes

Location:

Kleine Zaal, 1st floor

Objectives:

How can cities share standards, knowledge and code?

Come and learn how 8 European cities are opening up data through uniform APIs to attract developers to use their skills to develop useful and better services for citizens. Especially, you will see how CitySDK APIs are helping developers to develop scalable apps for tourism, mobility and citizen participation.

You will hear how the solutions like the ones developed using these APIs could be easily made reusable with the Civic exchange, a catalogue of civic software and services across Europe that help governments work better and what role Code Fellows can play in all this.

Adrian Slatcher will give examples from Greater Manchester region on the regional collaborations solutions like CitySDK and Civic Exchange enable.

More importantly we invite the participants to workshop with us to discover the opportunities and share the challenges that lay in City to City Collaboration, whether related to sharing standards, knowledge or code.

Speakers:

  • Hanna Niemi-Hugaerts

  • Ivonne Jansen-Dings

  • Adrian Slatcher

Hosted by:

CitySDK representative from Helsinki, Amsterdam & Lisbon
