ESADE is one of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions and ranks among the top ten business schools in Europe in the most important international MBA, Executive Education and university program polls. Its programs, which cover the entire professional cycle (from recent graduate to experienced professional) concentrate on two major areas: the ESADE Business School and the ESADE University Faculties. ESADE’s international network has always been and continues to be an integral part of the institution. ESADE has agreements and collaborations with over 100 universities and business schools on five continents and is currently the European business school with the most extensive student exchange network in Latin America.
Relevant Competence for the project
In 2010 ESADE has created the Institute for Innovation and Knowledge Management (IIK) with the purpose to host and nourish many of ESADE’s most significant efforts to understand the creation of knowledge and innovation. IIK team is a cross-disciplinary group dedicated to understanding the sources, mechanisms and consequences of innovation: where it comes from; how it is diffused and adopted; and how it affects individual, social, and economic structures when in use. IIK main research topics include open innovation, scientific discovery and technology transfer, platform and ecosystem design, sustainable technologies and systems of use, open government and democratizing technologies, as well as a variety of trends within serious games, policy simulation, quasi-experimentation and socio-technical ethnography.
Main role and activities to be carried out
ESADE, through the IIK will be involved in the dissemination (WP6), leading the activities aiming to affect smart city policy-making. It will also contribute to the Replication of Participation Pilots (WP3) designing new business models, identifying the best practices for creating new services and helping in the design of Pilots as “fixmystreet”.
